Corporate Strategy & Research, Liberty Mutual's highly visible, 20-person internal strategy consulting group, focuses on the strategic and operational business priorities of the Chairman and CEO of the company. The department advises the senior executive team in setting the strategic direction at the corporate and business unit levels.
Liberty Mutual views the Corporate Strategy & Research group as a vehicle for cultivating the company's future leaders. LMG's last CEO and its former CFO were both Corporate Strategy & Research alumni.

Responsibilities:

* Assist LMG's senior executives in making strategic decisions related to their respective business units.

* Lead project-related activities under the supervision of project managers in the areas of strategy development and strategic planning, financial analysis, competitive analysis, operations analysis, market positioning and segmentation, capital investment decisions and special studies for the LMG.

* Develop thought-partner relationships with company executives and managers to serve as platform for strategic advice and future career development. The department has an outstanding and long track record of developing future leaders for the company. Members of the department typically acquire significant line positions in the company after a period of material contribution to the department.


Requirements

* Strong quantitative, analytical, teamwork, written and oral communication, and leadership skills to aid in peer-like interactions with other departments and senior management is required.

* The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset for project development and long-term career success with a genuine interest in insurance and financial services

* A minimum of 1-2 years of strategy consulting experience with a top-tier consulting firm is required.

* Candidates should have an MBA or equivalent advanced degree and a highly analytical background, combined with at least 3-5 years of total work experience in financial analysis, marketing, strategy and consulting management.
